AFRO-CUBAN DANCE (ORISHAS & RUMBA)

Afro-Cuban Orishas & Cuban Rumba Workshop
Discover the rich culture, history, and movement of Afro-Cuban dance in this unique workshop. You will explore the expressive movements and rhythms inspired by the Orishas—the deities of the Yoruba tradition that have profoundly influenced Cuban music and dance. Learn how each Orisha is represented through distinctive body movements, posture, energy, and musical interpretation.
The workshop will also include an introduction to Cuban Rumba, one of Cuba's most iconic dance traditions. You will learn the fundamental steps, body movement, rhythm, and playful interaction that make Rumba such a vibrant and expressive dance. We will explore its cultural roots and the connection between movement, percussion, and performance.
What to bring:

Ladies: Please bring a long, flowing skirt, as it is an essential part of the styling and movement in both the Orishas and Rumba sections.

Gentlemen: Please bring a handkerchief, which will be used during the Rumba segment to learn traditional styling and partner interaction.
This workshop is suitable for dancers who want to deepen their understanding of Afro-Cuban culture, improve their body movement and musicality, and experience the authentic roots of Cuban dance in a fun and welcoming environment.

Take your salsa to the next level! These classes are designed for dancers with previous salsa experience, whether in LA Style (On1) or Cuban Salsa. Through
detailed instruction, you'll develop all the essential skills needed to become a more confident and expressive dancer, with a strong focus on technique, musicality, body movement, and partner work.

These salsa classes will be taught in detail, all the skills you need to take your dance to the next level, including musicality and body movement.
